MortalSpin's Endorsement: Barack Obama for Democratic Presidential Candidate

By BlackJack

Being the political powerhouse that we are, there comes a time when friends and critics both demand that you take a stand and make your opinion known. Up to this point that has not occurred. We've decided to make our endorsement known anyway.

MortalSpin.com is endorsing Senator Barack Obama as the Democratic Candidate for President of the United States. We're also endorsing him as the Republican, Independent, Green Party and Libertarian candidate as well. Sen. Obama has the ability to bring American's together as a true unifier and we would hope those who ascribe to the platforms of all political parties would take a long, hard look at Sen. Obama's stand on the important issues of the day.

In a time when voters will be look for a leader with the traits needed to restore pride and integrity to our great nation, Sen. Obama has demonstrated the character needed. He has proved to be a man built of the most important traditional American values - truth, ambition, confidence and compassion. He has worked his entire adult life to better himself and those around him.

Unlike our current administration, leadership is a quality that can be defined by a willingness to listen to the needs of those you're leading and the ability to form a plan of action that is well communicated. The Senators campaign has been a study in teamwork, leadership and management. A campaign is often a clear reflection of the candidate and, over the course of this very active campaign season, Sen. Obama has demonstrated that he has the necessary tools and abilities needed to lead the nation.

Our national identity - brotherhood, fairness and freedom - has been infected by the poisoned air of the Washington climate of partisanship. A polarized electorate has time and again voted against their own interests, and that of the nation, as victims of a manipulative strategy to divide and conquer. In this season, however, there is an awakening and a feeling of a new resolve to once again bridge the chasm of idealogical difference in the interest of the common good. Sen. Obama is the right leader at the right time for America.

Today, Pennsylvania Democrats will decide who they wish to endorse to represent them in the upcoming election. Many pundits and talking heads have discussed ad nauseam the possible outcome and it's meaning to the election. Looking at the longest primary campaign in memory, the trends and results clearly point to one conclusion - Senator Barack Obama should be the candidate to represent the Democrats in the fall and would be the best President come January of 2009.
