The intrasquad fighting between Obama and Clinton backers is still at a fever pitch. The Michigan and Florida resolution hasn't made peace between the camps. You have Clinton supporters threatening to take their grievance to the Convention floor. Obama backers are saying that Clinton has been playing racial politics while Clinton supporters say that Obama has been playing gender politics.
Have you ever been so keyed up for a semi-final playoff game that you lose sight of the ultimate goal? Well it appears that there are some Hillary and Obama supporters that have lost sight of what the country has gone through the last 8 years. Let's look at the latest people that haven't grasped the concept that John McCain as President is going to result in more Republican BS over the next 4 years and will hurt the country.
This from Raw Story -"I came here for the vote of every American, and our Democratic Party threw us down the tubes," New Yorker Harriet Christian said after yesterday's meeting of the Democratic Party's Rules and Bylaws Committee.
Senator Clinton is the "best nominee possible" for President, said Ms. Christian, "and the Democrats are throwing the election away. For what? An inadequate black male who would not have been running had it not been a white woman that was running for President! And I'm not going to shut my mouth anymore!"
This is nice to see from a Democratic supporter that values party loyalty more than anything else. Hundreds of demonstrators, whose ranks included supporters of both Senators Clinton and Obama, gathered outside the hotel where the meeting was to take place to urge a full tally of Florida and Michigan's delegate votes.
"I'm tired of it," Floridian Sharon Clark said yesterday. "I want to go and vote and know my vote is going to count."
"The right thing to do is to seat all the delegates," added delegate Beverly Battelle Weeks. "Anything less is not democratic."
"I can be called white, but you can't be called black," Christian charged. "That's not my America. It's equality for all of us; it's about time we all stood up for it.
"I'm no second-class citizen. And God damn the Democrats!"
"And they think we won't turn and vote for McCain," Christian added. She closed: "Well, I've got news for all of you: McCain will be the next President of the United States!"
Nice to see that these loyal Democrats are willing to play by the rules unless their choice is losing in the primaries and then decide to skew the rules and disenfranchise every other voter in Michigan and Florida. 100% of the Delegates go to Hillary in FL and MI? Why would any sane individual decide to agree to that? After all, I clearly remember that Hillary did receive over 50% in those two states, but nowhere 100%. So they are willing to disenfranchise those voters that voted uncommitted or for anything else besides for Hillary. Apparently, these people have learned their lessons well from 2000. Cheat, Lie, and Steal to win. Anything less is just wrong.
