If the media were to report on the current race for the Democratic nomination proportionally, they'd be spending well over half the time talking about Barack Obama. 54% of the coverage would favor Mr. Obama while a mere 38% of the news would cover Mrs. Clinton. That would of course leave 8% to discuss "What Ever Happened To John Edwards and Did He Ever Give An Endorsement?".
As IceBurgSlim (DailyKOS contributor) points out in his most recent post on his This Week With Barack Obama blog:
[Obama] leads Clinton as follows:And that, my friends, doesn't leave much "gray area". Even CBS News' Maria Gavrilovic pointed out on her "From The Road" political blog that Obama's campaign feels that with his current lead in delegates and with Mississippi a sure win, the Illinois Senator has the clearest path to the nomination. Of course that doesn't take into account the fact that Hillary's campaign machine seems to be running under "Rove Rules" - i.e., do whatever it takes to win no matter if the party survives or not.
a) Delegates
b) Primaries
c) Caucuses
d) Money Raised
e) Donors
f) Votes from big states
g) Popular votes
h) Senator endorsements
i) Governor endorsements
j) Most states won
And my friends these are the undisputed facts that the Clinton Campaign cannot spin.
The latest CBS News/NY Times poll has Obama leading Clinton by 16 points. That's a huge swing considering the same poll three weeks ago had the candidates tied at 41% each. As recently as January (before Super Tuesday I and II) Clinton lead by 15 points. So, while Clinton may claim that Ohio and Texas were great victories, the numbers seem to indicate that the all-important momentum seems to be continuing to favor Obama.
